Oh this thing they call "Second Life"

Where to begin? Well I tried to give second life a chance, really did. I figured you know what let's create myself and fly around and meet people. Boy was I wrong. I was first very distracted with trying to create myself as an avatar. I'm not the type of person who is going to create myself as something that I am not. I may have some flaws but I love who I am and will not pretend to be something or someone I am not. So when it was told to me that you can create yourself anyway that you want it, seemed like that was the selling point of Second Life. It takes a different type of character to want to hide behind their avatar to try and gain that first visual appeal in order to spark up a conversation or gain friends. It takes out that learning aspect of how to really deal and interact with people in a face-to-face environment. The other thing I noticed was that the guys were very eager to try and spark up a "typing" conversation with every attractive girl that came across in avatar. Let's see the person behind those avatars and throw them into an environment with a similar situation and see if they would still try and hound every girl that they walked right past.

The next thing that frustrated me was the difficulty of trying to create myself as an avatar. There were so many buttons and features and functions that I just felt that none of them really worked for what I was trying to accomplish. I do not want to spend 2 hrs trying to create my avatar. After I gave up on creating myself I did not want to give it another chance and felt it was just a burden to try and finish creating this avatar because I was not 100% satisfied with it.

Now I am not judging the people who really enjoy role playing in second life because that may bring them the pleasure that they need in life. And everyone's pleasures are different and mine generally deal with going out and meeting real live people.

Newspapers...gone, gone, gone!

There has been a lot of ramble on newspapers and its existence in our present and future world. Readers have dropped. Sales plummeted. Cannot appeal to the majority audience. I for one have never grasped onto the newspaper wagon. I found it to be cumbersome and to much hassle to just try and find out whats going on in the city. Not to mention that the news channels had already presented what each article was describing. The thing that really gets to me is how information from either news channels, newspapers, magazines or whatever form of communication is out there, is that it is always the same idea. Everything is always negative with the information that is presented to us. Crime, Politics, War and Money. Yes, I am aware of the bad that is happening around the world but how about we get writers to get the facts on the change that we need to have in order to turn this country around. It is very easy for anyone to just go out and present the obvious of negativity in the United States or bash the current President with his ideas. But hell! It's not like we have been doing a whole let better before.
I do feel that the newspaper era has come to an end because there are so many other easier and quicker ways of staying informed with toady's issues. Cell phones and Internet pretty much are going to run our lives, if it hasn't happened already. When you walk into your place of employment you do see co-workers with a newspaper in hand lounging in their chair. You see them prone up at attention staring at their computer screens searching between, CNN, MSNBC, MYSA and any other form of news they may be appealed to search. I also feel that the newspaper has plummeted because the younger generation who are born with the electronic era do not realize and understand how information was presented before there were computers, Internet and phones. It's just a way of how life keeps progressing and if you don't change with the times you will be left behind twirling your thumbs.

The fun with Wikipedia

On my wikipedia experience I went ahead and changed the star appearances who appeared on the hit HBO show Entourage. The character I added was P. Diddy and he lasted a whole 2 days until I had noticed someone removed his stardom from the show.

Blogging and its popularity.

Some may ask the question why is blogging so popular in this new era? Well my opinion is that if you come across a blog that may interest you and spark that urge to express your freedom of speech then why not go ahead and do it. It's not like you will have to stand up face to face to anyone questioning your comment, just simply reply back with a few words and get your point across. How many people can honestly say they love to encounter themselves in confrontation? I certainly don't. But if it is just as easy for me to type how I felt and nobody could ever see who it is or how I look, then why not?
So with that said, I feel it is one of the greatest reasons why blogging has leaped through the communication stage.

Who should have the been the big 12 champ

The 2008 college football season was one that may always be questioned. Who should have been at the BCS Champion Game; Florida, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech or Utah? All of these teams throughout the season proved they should have been there but only two arrived, the Florida Gators and the Oklahoma Sooners. Now that was only part of the debate, the other part had to deal with who should have represented the Big 12 Conference with a 3 way tie at one point with Texas, Oklahoma and Texas Tech. Many beleived that after Texas Tech had beaten Texas and Oklahoma beating Texas Tech but then Texas beating Oklahoma during the regular season that Texas would be number one. It wasn't so, Oklahoma ended up jumping in front of Texas and heading to the BCS Championship Game.
